Mind the Gaps
Problem

Symptoms of Alzheimer's such as memory loss and cognitive decline are often falsely characterised as natural consequences of ageing. The stigma and misinformation results in an overwhelming hesitancy for people to seek out a diagnosis, contributing to a significant percentage of undiagnosed cases.

Solution

An introspective guerilla campaign encouraging people to check in with their GP to seek out an Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

Situated in gaps in the environment, the campaign visualises the emotional journey from the uncertainty and overwhelm of noticing early signs to the clarity and acceptance that follows through diagnosis.

STAGE 1: CONFUSION

Subtle hints of disorientation scattered in public spaces. Visualising the unsettling cognitive decline of Alzheimer’s through the environment.

STAGE 2: RECOGNITION

Clearer and more targetted messaging that ties the initial emotions with the heart of the campaign. Naming Alzheimer’s and steering users in the direction of diagnosis.

STAGE 3: CLARITY

Personal and private messaging that target users in spaces of comfort. Offering help and direction for further medical support, with the ultimate purpose of seeking out a diagnosis.
